Christina Francis started this company because she believes in the power of beautiful, healthy skin. She knows it can transform the Way we feel about ourselves, how we connect with others, and how we take on challenges.
It’s a lesson she learned at an early age, shadowing her dad as he grew his company, University Medical Pharmaceuticals, into a multimillion-dollar skincare and pharmaceutical company. Young Christina did everything from helping demonstrate skincare products at local retail stores, to acting as a spokesperson for premier brands like AcneFree®, to producing company segments for Home Shopping Network.
Through all those years, she learned how important tenacity, hustle and passion were in getting the company’s products into prestigious retail stores like Harrods, Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom. She saw the value of integrity and efficacy, with the company’s relentless dedication to quality ingredients and clinically tested formulations that set it apart from global competitors. And she felt the pride of representing products developed bid researchers and scientists at some of the nation’s top universities, in partnership with expert dermatologists.
Witnessing the impact of University Medical’s products, Christina knew there had to be a beautiful Way to get the company’s transformative skincare into even more people’s hands (and deeper into the dermal-epidermal layers of the skin!).
So she decided to leave retail behind, and she channeled University Medical’s R&D, smart tools, patents, and science into the life-changing worry of social selling. She chose the butterfly as the company’s symbol, with its metamorphosis symbolizing the transformation that Transformational Beauty brings to skincare. The butterfly is also
a positive symbol, reflecting the connectivity of life and rebirth-underscoring our ability to change, and ultimately soar.
Joined by her father, Ray, her husband, Matt Stevens, and inspiring Consultants across the country, Transformational Beauty has one simple focus … to transform skincare-and the lives of those who share it.
Ray Francis serves as the Owner of Transformational Beauty and as President and CEO of parent company University Medical Pharmaceuticals, which he founded in 1994. With a passion for developing skin, body and hair care products that deliver superior efficacy beyond traditional topical applications, Ray has helped steer industry innovation through successful collaborations with leading universities and physicians. Mr. Francis has an extensive background in the packaged goods marketing arena, working as an executive with three world-class advertising agencies (Young & Rubicam, BBD&O, and William Etsy) on major brands. Showing his entrepreneurial spirit early on, he developed two hit products for Nabisco that earned him the title of Vice President at William Etsy at age 27—the youngest person ever to achieve that title. He obtained his B.S. degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ray is thrilled to be part of a legacy company, working with his daughter and son-in-law to extend the company’s innovation and efficacy to Transformational Beauty customers nationwide.
Matt Stevens serves as President, overseeing Transformational Beauty’s growth, operations, and marketing. As the former Vice President of parent company University Medical Pharmaceuticals, Matt helped guide the development and branding of premier national brands like AcneFree™ and WrinkleMD™. Working closely with retailers, Matt was instrumental in landing leading products in stores like Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Harrods, and Ulta, as well as on national shopping channels QVC and HSN. Matt graduated with his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He loves the adventure of building the company alongside his wife, Christina Francis, Transformational Beauty Founder and Chief Creative Officer.
